FAQ
Answers to common questions about intrinsic value and our tools.
What is the intrinsic value of a stock? It is an estimate of what a company is worth based on fundamentals such as earnings and cash flows. Our calculator uses our own formula.
How do I use the calculator? Enter the stock ticker (e.g. AAPL, MSFT). The calculator fetches earnings per share and other data to estimate intrinsic value. You can adjust growth assumptions and compare the result to the current price.
What is margin of safety? It is the gap between a stock’s price and your estimate of its intrinsic value. In value investing, a meaningful margin is often recommended. Data comes from third-party sources; cross-check with companies’ official filings. The tools do not provide investment advice.
Are the screener and watchlist free? Yes. All tools on the site are free. The screener lets you filter stocks by criteria (P/E, ROE, etc.); the watchlist lets you keep a list of tickers and open the calculator quickly.
Where do I find tickers? Stock symbols (AAPL, MSFT, etc.) are those used on US or local exchanges. You can search by company name or ISIN to find the corresponding ticker.
